Good point.

In an either-or situation, paying $2 of anything sounds better than $6 of anything. Luckily it's just a 'want this or not' situation where only one thing is to be considered.

And the next question is, how happy will the class of 2011 or whatever feel about not only paying the $6 but ALSO the additional $2 whether they ever visit the rec center or see the Mavs hoops or football teams?

As I recall, things got really expensive in the Carter years, but with the high interest rates if were able to afford to save anything, you could make some nice money on your savings accounts at 10 or 15 percent interest. Then Reagan got the advantage of being able to deflate the economy, people were able to spend money, MTV came into being, I got my braces off, etc. etc. etc. etc.
