I'm sorry I haven't had a chance to respond to Eric's message, but I've been thrown into the Stone Age with the absence of the Internet at my current residence... First off, Eric, thank you for being a part of this thing for the last couple years. You're one of the finest players I have had the privilege of jammin' with, and one of the nicest people I know as well. This decision was nothing personal. The reason it was done in the fashion in which is was, was because Ellis wanted to tell you the next time he talked to you, for he would have felt guilty otherwise. Not giving the other guys to say their peace. As far as Jack and Jim's failure to contact you, I don't have an explanation for. I'm sorry.
Now, the issues in which warranted this decision have been brought up by myself, directly to you on a fairly consistent basis for the last year. I still don't know if it was the right decision but, I know I tried my hardest to motivate you, to take yourself to another level. How many times can a person do that, and also realize that perception is reality. If you walk into a room 9 out of 10 times and show you would rather be somewhere else or doing something else, then what is the logical conclusion. In our conversations you basically verified these conclusions, specifically,.
Eric, I'm sorry things worked the way they did, I know you'll out playin' again soon, and when you are, throw every bit of your heart and soul into it, if you don't then it's not worth doing....
Your friend,
Matt

P.S. Give me a call if you want to talk about this more, maybe over a beer and a couple amps. Cool?
