Wonderful tributes and stories. Thanks for sharing.

I'm relatively new to the Red Setter fraternity (acquired my first one in 2003) and enjoy learning about the people that were so committed to bringing the breed back. At the same time, I'm concerned because it seems our numbers are diminishing. Perhaps this is a misperception.

I suspect the lack of wild birds and hunting opportunities contributes a lot to the decline along with fewer people doing American Field-sanctioned trials.
