Subject: AWESOME news... :D (HOCKEY related!!)

First item of business:

I HAVE 86% IN MATH!!!! THIS IS *ME*- JENNA- WHO GOT 50% LAST YEAR!! I'm SOOOOO proud!

And number TWO:

Guess what? My town is in the process of being recognized as the OFFICIAL birthplace of the NHL!! Everone already knows that the National Hockey League (then known as the NHA) was started in Renfrew by M.J O'Brien and his son Ambrose, and they funded four of the first five teams (two being The Renfrew Creamery Kings, aka the Renfrew Millionaires, who actually played for the Stanley Cup, and a little team of French Canadians named Les Canadiens De Montreal), but now we want the title OFFICIALLY- it goes to council this week, and then it has to be approved by the NHL, but that' not gonna be a problem, since they already recognize that M.J and Ambrose started the NHA... It's so exciting!! W're SUCH a hockey town to begin with- and now we're gonna be officially known as the birthplace of the NHL!! We're gonna have a museum (our FIRST!!), and tie-ins with the Ottawa Senators and the Montreal Canadiens, and they just might build us a new rink! Not that ours doesn't rock all... but they're thinking of turning the old rink (Ma-te-Way Park) into the museum, and then making us a new, bigger ARENA... we'd like to the the Millionaires back up an' running... pipe dream, maybe... but if we have an arena, and the publicity... y'never know. Coolest thing to happen to Renfrew since we held the Esso Women's National Hockey Championships- I got to meet some of the girls who played on our (WINNIN') Olympic team! Yeah, that was cool, too. But this'll be COOLER. :) YAY!!
