You probably got a shot of bicillin G 1000 units just like i got and for the same thing a strep infection and i too had to take those pills for 2 weeks and those pills sucked as they caused some bad intestinal problems, IE the runs which is a side effect of oral antibiotics,, hope your felling better now and even if you are felling better you still have to take those pills for 2 weeks.
