I would really like to know where you are getting your information from. You say that there is a lot of information that we, as members do not know, but there in fact is sooooo much more that you do not know. You claim to be a Christian, but isn't a true Christian supposed to love everyone no matter what their race, nationality, religion, or sex? At least that is what I has brought up to believe.
I know there is probably nothing I can say or do to change your mind but there is someone who will read this that will truly listen to what I have to say and then want to go and read for themselves to determine whether or not what you claim is true.
I know it is very easy to bash the LDS religion, but it is even easier for me to stick up for it. I love this church and know that what I am taught is truth. I have read and studied and prayed about mine as well as other religions. Maybe you should do the same.
I am sorry you have to attack another religion to make you feel good about yours.
Before you go teaching false doctorines, why don't you go and find the true ones.

What amazes me about people is that they don't check their facts. The "reverand" has no basis in fact. There are no references or links. I have read about Joseph Smith, studied his life and teachings. Not once did he say or do ANYTHING to hurt another human being. Not once did he belittle or destroy anothers spirit or reputation. He lived his life. And, what a life, too.

If Joseph Smith wanted fame, fortune, the chance to raise a family without being tarred, feathered, beaten, falsely imprisoned, forced from his home, and finally murdered for his innocent beliefs then he would have turned AWAY from the Lord. As it was, he gave up all he was to serve the Lord. None of his teachings say to hurt another, judge them, or rip on their beliefs.

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I know that God loves me and that this church is true. I know that Joseph Smith was a great man who loved all those around him. i know these things to be true because I have studied them. I have STUDIED the Book of Mormon, New and Old Testaments, as well as other reliogious literature. I have read the words of his enemies as well as the words of his friends and family.

I am saddened by the anger and hatred in the voice of the reverand. It is that kind of ignorance that destroys people.

So much energy has gone into hating others. I was raised to love those around me, be willing to forgive the errors of humans and to NOT JUDGE UNRIGHTEOUSLY. I am blessed to have been raised without anger, hate and guile. I pray for the poor reverand and hope he finds truth in his life.

You said regarding Joseph Smith:...oh really?? you should of read how he died killing two people with a gun smuggled to him in jail so we see you really never took time to know the truth . no man of god ever killed in such a fashion in the new testament joe is a deceiver plain and simple he copied parts of the king James version and said it was an angel what a liar and we know were he is today . but what im worried about is were are you going to spend eternity??? with out the precious
blood of Jesus!

I also read recently that a mom was abducted by aliens and she will now bare an alien/human child that will look a lot like John Kerry.

Also, so what. Let's assume that he was smuggled a gun. 250 to 6 odds seems a little like overkill the gun wasn't even an equalizer he would have needed a Tommy Gun. This mob was trying to protect the very religion you claim to follow. Joseph was housed in a jail, and a mob attacked him. Does he have the right to defend himself?

The lameness of your statement that no man of God ever killed like that in the New Testament is akin to saying I only murder and rape before 7 am and after 10 pm. Prophets are Prophets are Prophets. Severl examples come to mind. Also, see the numerous examples in the Old Testament. ONe such example is when Samuel the Prophet tells Saul to kill every living thing in the Amalekite village (Saul subsequently does not kill the sheep and offers them as a sacrafice to Samuel who reproves Saul for his disobedience). There are others but I pointed this one out specifically, because Saul was supposed to kill all living things, including women, children and beasts. Joseph simply shot at people who were mobbing him (self defense).

So this foundation of evidence against the Prophet Joseph Smith is both unfounded and baseless which makes your argument extremely weak.
