Subject: Debating 101

Here are few thoughts I had to guide our discussions.

1. When an idea or position is postulated and one believes they have or have not won the debate (and even if they do win the debate), this is totally irrelevant to truth. Additionally, to not win a debate does not prove false a position.

2. To claim to have won a debate without concession from the opponent really is self gratification in its highest form and not beneficial to the discussion. It only serves to give one person the false sense of superiority but does nothing with regard to what is true or not.

3.I really get tired of folks on here making asinine statements regarding ones intelligence. The ability of one individual to express themselves in our limited form of communication (databits) or understand anothers communication really has little to do with what is truth or not. Civility and a willingness to analyze is critical in the analysis of the subject of God and Christ. I would suggest that such restraint be exhibited in the responses.
