The E45 has a digital D-VHS connection for use with the HDR-205, Hitachi VTDX815A, or RCA vr911hf D-VHS VCRs. This equipment is standard definition only. The E86 is a high definition satellite receiver and does not have the D-VHS digital connection or a firewire connection. The HDR205 can only be used as a Hi-Fi VHS VCR when connected to the E86.
