Subject: D-VHS error 200 - an idea & question

Just ran into the problem of getting some 200 erro codes instead of the recorded (analog, tuner) TV programme.

When FF/REW with image is reviewed, nothing seems wrong, i.e. I do get the search with picture functionality one would expect.

Since the recording obiously was OK (hence the FF/REW with image), it is oviously logical to seem to think only the index parameters are wrong. I expect those to be on chip in in a D-VHS cassette (navigation and/or tape ID). If that were to be true, surely there must be a way to force the JVC HR-DM10000 into "re-indexing" the tape.

Is there any way to get beyond the error 200 issue? the programma which now doesn't play is rather important to my family.

Many thanks - Nick
