Subject: D-VHS & S-VHS

I have been making my own Video Recording since 1982, I first made all my Masters on Beta, then made copies to VHS 1/2". I had 7 Campuses with 62 Lessons, each lesson was per tape. I had from 3 to 5 sets at each Campus location. I have made Thousands of copies. Now as there was no Internet when I started, nor anyone to ask how to make my lessons into video I started with several cameras, first using a crew, then finally doing it all by myself. I once asked a production company for a bid to make them for me. 1.6 mil the man said, I said what does that mean? he said "1 million 600,000 dollars. I then had a Univerity in West Virgina contact me and they would place my lessons on 2" tape as a class project and charge $5,000 per lesson. Now none of this was even practicle as I was just transferring my live Seminars to video tape for lessons, as for many years I used Plastic Overlays with a projector. Until the year 2000 I still made my Masters in VHS with T120 then copied onto 6 hour play the lessons. I have purchased several thousand video tapes since 1982. Not until 2000 did I even plan to make a change, but I went to South Korea to teach in Seminar for the Civilian Employees for the 8th Army and i had spent 2 weeks printing all new Plastic overlays, which was made from the Workbooks, each page of which I used with the cameras in making the videos. The Korean gentleman that helped me set up the class room, looked at my rather large set of Plastics, said "Ole Fashion Kind". I have been teaching the Construction Industry for more than 30 years Computer Estimating, statring with Time Share using Teletypes, Punch Cards, all the way until PC's of which I developed several estimating programs for estimating and project management. So "Ole Fashion" was not even considered, as all the files were in the Computer but as the Projectors are $400 a day as to the Overhead Project at $50 a day it was just not considered in my industry. The Army in South Korea had all the latest Computer Projectors, Screens, & Monitors through out the Classroom. I made a committment to not be called "Ole Fashion" any more. This in March of 2000, ny November I had placed all my lessons in a software called Power Point and with that program I no longer use cameras. Now I still use T120 Tapes and copy onto same type. Last week and this is almost July of 2003, I purchsed 500 T15 Tapes and have recorded 24 of my lessons onto T15 at 6 hour play. So Far So Good. I want to make Masters on Tape and the Ideal for me would be the same size for ease of copying T15 to T15 6 hour play. As I have made thousands of copies still I don't know what S-VHS or D-VHS is. I use Zenith VCRs all purchased in 1982. I have them serviced often, as i once had more than 80 of them, I am now down 5 of which I use one as a Master and two for Copying. I sure would appreciate more knowledge about making Masters and Copies, and especially what is S-VHS or D-VHS.
