Subject: Hidden Ports on the JVC DVHS

I have found out from an engineer friend of mine.

While he was looking at a machine for another fault he invesigated the firewire ports.
There is another space on the Printed circuit board for another firewire connection and a hole but on the european model there is no connector just a space.
He wasn't able to tell me if the board it was situated on was populated with all the componants for it to work in this way. The board was encased in a screened metal case that would have taken more time to investage (since he had a specific job to do ho couldn't go round looking at other things in someone elses time)
Parhaps this aught to be taken up with JVC

Regards

Andy
