Subject: JVC HM-DH30000 D-VHS "4:3" HDTV Problem!!!!!

I have a JVC HM-DH30000 in perfect condition. I also have a 4:3 Toshiba 71" HDTV. I can't view 1080i in the 4:3 format, only 16x9 widescreen HDTVs can view the image without it being vertically elongated. I can change the setting to play in 4:3 BUT ONLY in 480i, which looks WORSE than both laserdisc and Dvd. If you have a 4:3 (non-widescreen) HDTV think twice if you're planning on using the D-Theatre widescreen tapes. I can't get anyone at JVC to help me, I just keep getting transferred from one person to another. NOBODY at JVC knows ANYTHING about their flagship D-VHS deck.
