i live in connecticut.
i own a jvc hm-dh300000u d-vhs deck.
it does output mpeg2 program streams to a pc equipped with windows xp so they can be captured.
it also records and decodes streams sent to it from the pc.
the latest version of pinnacle studio 8 works very well with it. this is because studio 8 supports the micromv camcorder which uses the transport stream protocol employed by the jvc d-vhs deck. here is a link to more info
