I managed to get one from Jessops (The Photography chain). In my opinion the DF-420 tape is inferior to JVC S-VHS 180 tapes for D-VHS (recording time aside) probably because the tape is physically thinner. I have experienced more frequent image breakup with the DF-420 tapes and fast searching is less reliable.

The main reason I bought the tape was to see if it "fixed" some image quality issues I had with S-VHS tape in LS3, and so I could pacify JCV tech-support if I need to call them again (my first DR10000 machine was DOA). My conclusion is that other than extended recording time the DF-420 is not worth the expense.
