Yes the shore is the rock and the deep, calm waters are the life we live here. We do not know the depth of these waters nor do we know what dwells beneath our floating bodies, but it feels good! Grasping waves are those who seek, some give up and never make it to shore, others stand by and watch the futility and judge the whole process a mess. Some make it to shore. I just can't figure out if this speaks of Presbyterians with the reference to grasping waves.

I read a book by Sheldon Vanaukin (sp) called Severe Mercy. He had a very interesting analogy about freedom and its consequences. Some postings on this thread reminded me of the passage where he and his wife took the dogs out for a walk in a nearby field. They always took walks in this feild and as the dogs were familiar with the area and the procedure, they took them off their leashes. One dog ran off over the hill, looking over his shoulder at the calls of his owner. He disregarded these calls and continued on until he was out of sight. The second dog returned to the owners after his standard run in the field. Shelden described freedom thusly: The dog that returned to its owner lived a life with teathers but forever saw his needs met. The runaway dog saw the greatest amount of freedom possible, but we had no way of knowing the consequences of his actions. He may have lived a long happy life in someone elses hands, he may have been injured and died alone in the woods.

Similarly, we reject teathers and authority, we seek maximum freedom. We know what our immediate consequences may lead towards, but we don't know if we are going to die in the woods alone. I have seen in some a life made with with safe refuge, whose lives allowed the greatest freedoms. But I have seen many more whose lives were irreversably lost on dependance and even greater bondage as a senior citizen. These are the people that seem to have found their woes to have been forced onto them by others hands. The good times of days gone by always seem to get better with age, but the deprevation of their soul reeks through all their words in shades their eyes.

For me I see that all are given a choice to live as we desire. All truly want to seek and find, and all shall find. It is what one seeks that can drive us towards greater accomplishments.

I have started flying and bought a Saratoga for business. It is sure a lot of fun. I have found, however, the tangible and true meaning for looking ahead at consequences. Flight in a calm sunny sky is as fun as it gets. One poor decision can lead to about 15 minutes of fun, then a firey hell.

Tim, by your reports you have found a heck of life. You have to share with me, but over a cup of coffee and face-to-face. It is possible that I can break free of my work this summer and come to visit. Likewise I know that you spend some time at Hilton Head each summer (or spring?) could be that I can get away and meet you there. This is another of those hard years when we are expanding the business with a Tampa branch. This will be a large market for me so it will drain me of resources and time. I will keep in touch. In the meantime, God Bless.
