You came dangerously close to being deleted once again my non-silly (godless) friend. Thankfully, I waited and did not act immediately upon reading your comments...

Because alas, God has given me the ability to respond to your comments here on this Christmas Eve Day 2009. It is a timely answer and with God given "response ability" (to some silliness) that I share these scriptures with you and anyone else that visite here and has the ears to hear them. Thanks be to God!

The psalmist says in the fourteenth psalm, verse one, "The fool has said in his heart, 'there is no God.' " and in chapter 12 of Proverbs, "The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, But he who heeds counsel is wise."

and Psalm 1:

"Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he (the silly man) meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree, planted by the rivers of water that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he (the silly one) does shall prosper."

The rest of that psalm refers to the foolish man. I won't emphasize this here because it's not good news for the fool, but you all can look it up - remember the fear of the Lord (that's revererential fear) is the beginning of wisdom!! And everybody who would be 'silly' needs to start there.

In the New Testament and chapter 1 of the First letter to the Corinthians, Paul (the silly) writes to all who would be:

"The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us (the silly ones) who are being saved it is the power of God, for it is written;

'I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.' (Is 29:14)

Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe. (wow, what an i r o n y!)

For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom; but we (again the silly ones) preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks (all those who would be silly too), CHRIST (is) the power of God and the wisdom of God.

Because the foolishness of God (what you call silliness) is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men." (1 Corin 1:18-25 NKJV - with parenthesis added by this writer)

And finally, to confirm my own silliness in light of all that has been said above:

I Corin 2:27-31:

"But God has chosen the foolish things of the world (I'm in that number!) to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world (again that's me!) to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, that no flesh should glory in His presence.

But of Him you (the silly ones) are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God -- and righteousness and sanctification and redemption (that's good new to the silly!) -- that as it is written, He who glories, let him glory in the Lord." NKJV (except for parenthesis which are mine.)

And all the 'silly' ones said, AMEN! and GLORY to GOD!

Holy Christmas to ALL!

from the downside up Kingdom
