Some thoughts about Truth for today:

Truth is not debatable and it is not a choice, it simply is...

We can know the Truth and it is a choice to accept it as such...

The Truth is not on sale; it is available to all for free, but accepting it will cost you everything...

God's Word = The Truth = The Way

God's Word is God's will. His will is The Way that leads to Life (eternal life, abundant life, a life lived for others). We must begin by laying our life, our way, even our own understanding on the alter. It is an exchange; our life for 'The Life' in Him! A simple choice. Do you know where your life leads? Do you know where your way ends? Can you really trust in your understanding?

His Word says that He became flesh (Jesus) and dwelt among us.

God's Word = The Truth = The Way = Jesus

Sin separates us from God, but God has made The Way for us to be reconciled to Him through acceptance of His Son. Jesus took on the sins of the whole world, including yours and mine. When we accept His sacrifice as payment for our sins, we enter in to the family of God. We become brothers and sisters of Christ, who was the promised one from the beginning. He is the First and the Last, the Alpha and Omega.

Once we accept the Truth, each of us is then called to come in deeper. We can make the choice to enter in to the 'Promised Land' and 'the Rest' within. Just knowing the truth is not enough, I believe that is why so many who know it fall away. When we accept the Way, the Life, and the Truth, He (Jesus) will come to reside in us. He sends His Spirit to help us grow. As we get to know God, who is revealed to us in His Word, by His Spirit, we will grow in Faith, but this growth can only come by hearing. As we become faithful hearers we then can become doers of the Word. God's will accomplished on earth as it is in heaven! His will as revealed in His Word!

Get to know God's will for you. Get to know His Truth. Get it inside of you; It really will make you free!

Ellsworth makes a bike called the Truth. It is one of the classic XC mountain bikes. They run about 4K and were pretty much the state of the art for a while. I think the name came from the idea that if you ride one you can only blame your self for your short comings because the bike clearly is as good as it gets. This leaves you with the Truth about your abilities.

I think truth is rooted in honesty. You can't be truthful if your not honest. No higher power needed for this idea. We all know how truthfull we are. People who pay attention also have a pretty good idea how truthfull their freinds are too.

Hum, is truth rooted in honesty, or is honesty rooted in truth? Very good perception Mr. Telebob. I saw a NOVA program on public TV the other day that reported that the universe has no edges and no center. When I contemplate truth I usually think of a corner in which to back a fact so that it can be inescapably defined. I understand that my definition is not a universal opinion and severely lacking in universality when no corner can be found for my truth, even though it may be truth but I can't define it. When I consider truth in light of an ever expanding undefinable universe, I can't seem to get my hands around any more truth than I can personally see. Tim, help me out here. Is my truth limited by my honesty (whatever it is) and my inability to see beyond my corner?

Truth, by it's nature is very elusive and difficult to comprehend.
Grace is somewhat more tangible and easier to assimilate into our daily lives.
By living with grace we come closer to truth, even though we may never know what it is.

I'm not sure who the 'hipster' is, but I have an idea that whoever it is, is NOT a follower of the Truth that makes men (and women) free. (John 8:31,32)

The world's idea of what truth is, is about as varied as there are opinions; because of this it WILL BE, not "CAN BE, elusive and difficult to comprehend."

The Word of God is NOT opinion. Truth is NOT complicated to understand.

Jesus said:

"I AM the way, THE TRUTH, and the life, NO ONE COMES TO THE FATHER, BUT THROUGH ME."

God WILL bless those who have the ears to hear and the eyes to see!

thank-you for visiting! even you, hipster!

Tim you make it seem like you need to be in the Mob in order to be truthful. Each of us knows what the truth is in the context of our perception of reality. If we are honest we can accurately express it to others. If we are not we can spin Yarns like GW will tonight at 9pm. He is a dishonest Bastard and the opposite of Truthful. Strange how he references God all the time. He will have some Explaining to do, NOT.

MRG $3:50 Tuesday 1/30, if you can Ice fish with DP you can ski it if you can. That is the truth and you heard it from me. You know the godless guy on the other side of the hill.

There is no truth if that truth is based on the word of (wo)man for (wo)man is incapable of knowing the 'truth'. Any 'truth' ascribed to the word of God, anyone's God, is not the truth for it first comes from the word of (wo)man. No (wo)man can speak the word of God for they are NOT God and thus cannot know the 'truth'.

Hello Blasph,

Welcome to my forum. I have based my understanding of Truth on the Word of God. It has become the first and last authority for me. Jesus told those Jews who believed on him that "if you continue in My word, then you are My disciples indeed; and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." (John 8:31,32)

obviously, if you believe that these are men's words and not God's then you are not going to embrace my position. Even so, I appreciate you sharing your opinion after reading mine. I believe that Jesus is The Way, The Truth and the Life, as He stated when He was here in the flesh and as recorded by the gospel writers. If you have Jesus, you have life! He will show you the Way and you can know the Truth!

But don't take my word for this, you can ask Him yourself and He will reveal Himself to you, too!

Today I will experience the true meaning of life. Skiing in the woods with friends (no dogs), enjoying the surroundings, enjoying nature, warming by the wood stove, and sharing a meal of freshly caught perch from Lake Champlain...... and of course tossing back a few brews. To me, that is the true meaning of life. One can spend time trying to figure out what comes next, as in the after-life. I say live life, and not worry about whether or not you go to a special place after death. We're here for only a short while.....embrace nature and all it has to offer, which in my case today will consist of some awesome power runs. Live-on!

The truth for Lucy is that she will be locked in the house looking out as I leave with those long pointy things. Usually the long pointy things signal a long walk in the woods for her. She is a lion in search of prey in the woods and it is all about the moment. To be truthful she will forget about me till she sees me again. Dogs are here and now and never hold the past in front of whats happing in the present.

The sun is peaking over the hill and it looks to be a stellar day. I am once again at DP's mercy in terms of when I will actually be sking. He is truthfully the slowest Man I know in terms of getting some place on time. Oh well its not like I don't know it.

Onward Hoooo!

Tim you will be old and mad you never went on these trips, and thats the truth

dear tom,

I have tried to explain here how this relationship with the Truth has changed my life. I will not debate the Truth, I can only proclaim it to the best of my ability to any and all who will hear it.

My outward life may never fully convey or express the change I have experienced in a way that causes others to flock to it, but I know that if I don't give up on God, He will never ever give up on me and who else can you say this about?

the war is between the flesh and the spirit.

In John 6:63, Jesus said, It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.

and Paul writing to the Galations 2:20, "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave His life for me."

And in Romans 8 starting in verse 2:

"For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace... "

"Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God. But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His...

For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God."

And finally from Paul's First letter to the Corinthians, chapter 2:14:

"But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ."

I actually like this tread but , yes I still have something to say that really is not in it yet.

I think that truth=Accuracy. If your version of what is is not accurate it is not truthful.

So how do you make it accurate? Well you sure as shit don't read riddles and try and make them fit real life.

If you base your perception of reality on things that can't be measured its not accurate and its not the truth.

Thats it, end of story

So here is a group of truthful statements: The Boysweekend Winter Event is really fun and memorable. It can be measured because we laugh a lot and eat great food. This event is good for you. This can be measured in the amount of work we do. Between trekking in, cutting wood, poaching Glades and trekking out we burn tons of calories and we release lots of pent up stress. All good measurable things. It is also a spiritual event which can be measured in the connection to nature, friends and places from our past.

It is clear to anyone that memories are really a very valuable asset. Therefore the accumulation of such things is clearly a really good investment. You can pretend that all of this is junk but then are you really truthful?

The truth is just the truth anything less is Bullshit and that is the truth.

Tic tic tic tic tic tic

your are a scientist, perhaps a scientoligist even!?

you measure your experience by what you can see and experience mr telebob. But can you deny that there is a lot that you do not see? you cannot see the wind, only the evidence of it. You cannot see your wife's emotion, but you can certainly experience the wrath of her scorn! You cannot see love, but there are people that come close to describing it in song and prose.

You know that the unseen world exists, right?

i will not deny that to experience a weekend in the woods with friends can be a lot of fun! I'm not the man i once was, but as for having fun and experiencing the here and now, i'm as good, if not better than i ever was! that's a line in a country song that i heard recently that seems appropo.

But, my extreme friend, there is more to the big picture than meets the eye! There is a more excellent way! Not that I've attained it by any stretch. I am only on the WAY. I have not been this WAY before! It is the WAY that leads to abundant life and it is the WAY of TRUTH that makes one FREE! To know God is to experience HIM in all HIS fullness. Not just the wind in your hair, or the thrill of the chase, but to experience the essence of being loved even when you don't deserve it!!!!

To be forgiven and approved and redeemed and accepted in the beloved! It is beyond description!

The WAY, the TRUTH and the LIFE. He's alive and well and coming to take up residence in the hearts of men and women everywhere!!!

Don't knock it, till you tried it!
