Subject: (!) Pre Season thoughts

Hia all,
It's approaching that time of year when proper mountain bikers (like myself ;-) are just starting preparations for the season ahead: Polishing their steeds, picking hardened mud clumps (accumulated over 6 months of trudging through un-ridable abandoned mud trails if only to prove the point of not riding a cross bike)- off and chucking them kicking and screaming to the garage floor; replacing those brake and gear cables chiselling a path through the rust; stocking up on a seasons worth of disinfectant, bandages etc (not that I ever need any of that stuff); trying to get good enough at driving to pass test so can race every weekend :-); planning which college lessons you can get away with missing if the weather is just too nice to not go out on the trails; and ensuring you have enough bacon egg and sausage for a triple BES (...bread – butter – 2 sausage – 2 bacon – egg – bread – butter – 2 sausage – 2 bacon – egg – BBQ SAURCE EVERYWHERE!...) after every ride for every day of the summer (all 5 of them).
Anyway, here are my thoughts on a few IMPORTANT matters...

VENUES NAT SERIES
Hmmm...Ok.... let’s see what we’ve got...well, there’s Flatford 1, Flatford 2, Crazy Drummers Castle (Middle of Nowheresville), Flatford 3 and Chicken Pen. Hmm.....sounds like fun! :-/ Thank god we god a good National Chimps!!!!! Grrr. Oh and for those of you that thought I just listed the National FLAT ROAD TT SERIES then...u near enough right but the callin’ it the ‘National MOUNTAIN biking series’ or summin’ along those lines!!!

SHAVED LEGS
As ever, particually as we are approaching the MTB season, where off course shaved legs are essential :-/ I decided to weigh up the pro’s and cons of those of YOU that chose to errr...do this.

PROS
· 10% of women like it
· You make your friends laugh
· Roadies have a place for you
· You get to keep re-doing them
· Massages
· Protection from infection when you crash

CONS
· 90% of women don’t like it
· You are the subject of fun for all you friends
· Life has no place for you
· You have to keep re-doing them
· Fat women rub yellow stuff onto your legs
· No legal act of protection ensuring safety from the other side (or same side) when playing football (and wearing shorts)

Any thoughts? Personally my girlfriend doesn't mind hairy legs and I WOULD NEVER hear the end of it from her of my friends if I EVER shaved them....so nothing ANYONE says is going to convince me of ANY REASON this should ever be done. Just my opinion, not saying you should except it-just that it's right. :-)

Gota go, late for college, missed 2 lessons this morning already :-o!
