Subject: Spike's Wish

I keep thinking about AnGelX's clarification on the wording of the Spike/Africa spoiler posted at BC&S on 3/22/02:

"As I said in the spoiler's explaination, I don't know what Spike's intentions were or what he was really specifically asking for or whether he even gets it...that was the reason for editing the spoiler's wording. Not trying to stop anyone from speculating, just trying to make sure it's clear the wording of the spoiler isn't pointing at some hidden story or something."

This leaves open the possibilty that Spike could wish for something unselfish, such as "Let Buffy become a normal girl." Since she evidently has just been shot and unwittingly roughed up by Spike in upcoming episodes, it is possible that Spike chooses to be noble and provide her with the one thing that will insure her safety....being a normal (non-slayer) girl.

Perhaps I'm reaching here. Does anyone have thoughts on what Spike might wish for other than removal of the chip and/or return to his former self?
