Along with all these spoilers I've read a great deal of speculation that most, if not all, of these tragedies will have to be reversed, or reset in the final two episodes in order for the show to go on at all.

There are various ideas as to the mechanism for a reset, but most centre around the presence of the vengeance demons (Anya, Halfrek and D'Hoffryn) in Sunnydale. When Anyanka's talisman was smashed in The Wish everything immediately reverted to the way it was at the moment Cordelia made her wish, and none of the things that had happened since were even remembered.

A lot of this may be wishful thinking on the part of people who can't bear to believe that Tara will die, or that Spike will try to rape Buffy, but I'm beginning to think that something like a reversal is going to be necessary just to get us into Season 7.
