Buffy takes Dawn to Spike's crypt because Dawn wants to go there and Buffy knows he won't hurt Dawn. Spike's relationship with Dawn is different from the one he has with Buffy... he'd never hurt Dawn and if his own free will wasn't enough, the chip in his head actually works on Dawn.
