I would be very surprised if ME were to dechip Spike and simply have him choose to be good. In Smashed, they appreared to be telling us that he wasn't ready for this. Even with the best intentions, I don't see him prevailing over a vampire's bloodlust.

On the other hand, what if Spike tells the demon that he wants to be "the man he used to be"? Which is how it's phrased in an earlier spoiler. Spike could end up very sorry over his choice of words!
