受薪董事小組今日召見了「飛鷹山」的騎師薛凱文，就其曾於賽後覆磅之前飲用飲料一事作出查詢。小組今日亦召見了閘前助理員C Peddie。

小組翻看了「飛鷹山」角逐國泰航空香港盃後返回覆磅期間的影片，影片顯示Peddie曾向薛凱文遞上一瓶汽水。影片亦顯示薛凱文飲了一口汽水後將瓶交回Peddie。此時，薛凱文仍坐在「飛鷹山」背上，尚未返回覆磅。薛凱文解釋謂，他賽後感到口乾，所以在見到Peddie手上有一瓶汽水時，便要求Peddie將汽水給他，用以濕潤口腔。Peddie證實，他僅於薛凱文提出請求後才把汽水遞給薛凱文，並說當時沒有考慮到此舉可能帶來的後果。

小組亦翻看了薛凱文在此賽策騎「飛鷹山」之前的過磅影片，影片顯示薛凱文的磅重為126.2磅。根據此賽的條件，「飛鷹山」須負126磅出賽。薛凱文賽後覆磅的影片顯示，他的磅重為126.2磅。他過磅和覆磅時的磅重，以電腦列印各騎師磅重的紀錄作為確證。電腦列印紀錄乃由磅秤系統產生。

根據所得的證供，小組確信「飛鷹山」於競逐和勝出國泰航空香港盃時均負正確磅重。小組告誡薛凱文，他於賽後覆磅前飲用飲料之舉並不恰當，不論所飲分量多少亦然。薛凱文被判罰款五千元。

小組將指示司閘員提醒各閘前助理員，他們除於執行閘前職務期間外，在賽馬日不得與騎師接觸。
