A snuffling-sort of sound erupted from the bank opposite the bloodbay mare. She glanced up but did not seem to see the source of the sound, because she looked back down at her reflection again. But almost instantly after that, she herd the soft thumps of hooves on the grass and heard a voice calling out to her. She quickly stifled and wiped away her tears, though they slowly continued to flow, then stood properly and looked behind her. There was a stallion, one she did not recognise, though. But he knew her name. Did she know him after all? Her ears wilted slightly, and she looked downwards, ashamed to be seen in such a state. And without looking up, she muttered, "Yes?"

"Yes," she lied, hastily wiping more tears away. "Who are you, exactly?"

She raised a brow. "Ivan? I don't recognise the name... Though you claim to know me, I don't know you. And I don't give out my emotions to unknown equines." She didn't mean to sound rude, but she was upset, and, as upset horses often do, she was a little grumpy. She forced a smile at his joke, though not a genuine smile; it seemed nothing was genuine any more now that her mate was gone.

She pinned her ears against her head, still sniffling a bit. Before, when he was here, she wanted to be alone. But now that he had decided to leave, she didn't want him to go. She took a step foward, hesitated, then took a few steps back. She continued to watch him for a few more moments, then turned away and trotted back over to the river. She lowered her head as if to drink, but instead stared at her reflection again. "Why did it have to end this way? YOU wouldn't leave me, would you?" she asked the horse in the water. And just as she expected, she got no reply. And as far as she was concerned, a reflection can't love you the way another horse can.

+He head hoofbeats heading away, he turns and watches her, wondering what it was that made her so sad, he decided her would talk to her some more... but not right now, she seemed as if she didnt know what she wanted. He flicks his tail and trots parallel to the river for a quarter mile and then stops, he walks into the cooling waters and drinks, thinking about the curious mare+

Ooc: By the way, in the herd listings it says Ivan is a colt, but he doesn't act like a colt in your posts, lol. So, just curious, what is he, exactly? Do they just need to update the board?
