Good question, one which I eagerly await an answer. I also get accused of misunderstanding the Christianity that was taught to me. Yet I have done more personal research into the matter than anyone I personally know, save one (Omega), and even he says, "Most Christians especially have a very low understanding of theology." (There Are Many Reasons, 03/02/02).

I can't find anything in the Bible that isn't stated better elsewhere. Personally, I think most Christians are Christian just because they are taught to be Christian. Take a given Christian, and, using your imagination, cause him to be born in the Middle East, he would be just as fervant in his belief in Islam or Judeaism. Cause that Christian to be born in India, and he would be just as fervant in his belief in Hinduism or Buddhism.

I think religion is more about geography of birth and the lessons of parents than about truth.

Take a child and teach it no religion, and shield it from religious influences, then, at age 16, expose that child to all the religions equally and ask him to choose one, which would he choose? Probably the one that came closest to his own preconceived world-view that he had come up with on his own.

I find little truth in religion beyond the fact that it is a taught world-view, and in most cases, a much over-simplified, artificial world-view.
