I don't think people are inherently evil. The people who did what they did on Sept. 11 thought they were doing a good thing, and from their point of veiw, they may have been doing good. A lot of people have died pointless deaths in the name of religion, be it Christianity (Salem Witch Trials, Crusades, Inquisition), Islam (Terrorist Attacks), Hinduism, Buddhism, etc. Heck, in Ireland, the Catholics and the Protestants routinely engage in terrorism.

Unfortunately, the label of Good and Evil depends entirely upon which side you are standing upon. It depends entirely on your world-view and whether or not you are the victor or the victim.

How many people were calling for us to nuke Afghanistan after the attack? Kill the innocent and the guilty to make sure the guilty are killed. Make them tremble before America. Fear. Create fear. Isn't that terrorism? Is it good or bad? Religions create fear. I call it emotional/spiritual terrorism. Is it good, or is it evil?

Answer. It depends.

The good/evil label is essentially meaningless in a universal sense.
