Hey all! I finished my move back to CA and I'm in the process of getting things back in order. Thought I'd drop by and say hello.. and happy holidays to those celebrating!

I saw a twilight showing of LotR on opening day and was then asked if I wanted to return with a friend of mine who was going to the 11:30 showing.. and I jumped at the chance! It was great!

The first time I watched I was just swept away. I laughed at Merry and Pippin's antics, I sat on the edge of my seat as the fellowship braved the mines, I cried when Boromir died. I loved it!

The second time I watched it a little more rationally, and appreciated more fully some of the artistry of detail, the effects, and the incredible acting. I could watch it many more times and probably will, though first I am picking up the trilogy to read again!

I have to admit I haven't read the LotR since the mid-eighties so I am a little rusty as far as comparing the movie to the book goes... but I know I loved the film!
