Which make me say it isn't without problems, without faults. It is a good film, but I think we must not say -- just because some elements were good -- there is nothing to be concerned about in its presentation.

Of course one could say I am too much into Tolkien's writings to appreciate the film. One aspect I agree -- I can't imagine what it is like to see the movie without having read the books. I tried to do it while watching the film, and asking "could someone who hasn't read the books, understand this, or the significance of this event, or the lack of narrative connections here."

Be it as it may, I think Jackson will realize it isn't perfect. HE is already saying he wants to do the next one better. He will have resources, time, money to do it -- and the ability to listen to suggestions now that people have seen a part of his work. And also, once the story has been satisfactory introduced, it is easier to just follow through with what occured in the books.
