Well the "high speed" would be DSL if available in your area (need to confirm). Typically, DSL runs $45-50/mo and allows you to be on the phone at the same time. A regular phone and those services run about $35/mo. So all together it's not much of a savings separately, but when you throw in the local toll dialing (long distance within area code and usually instate long distance) and long distance (out of state) unlimited is what would make the deal worth considering if you make a lot of calls. Also, there is the whole one bill package for tracking.

I had MCI long distance for several years, not bad, but their deals were getting less and less desireable over time as they cut away at the plans. I switched to a difference carrier, Sprint, which packaged some free minutes long distance with our cell phone. Never really had any issues or problems with reliability of service with MCI, just the rates fell to better competition. MCI isn't extablished in the market place as an ISP, and you may want to follow up on questions about tech support if you rely on it much.
