For an Old Friend

The grey skies keep me indoors.
I have no force of will.
I�m safe inside alone here,
yet my friend rambles still.

He sees the sun that�s lurking,
It�s warmth spread on his face.
He has his hopes that carry him
forever and all ways.

He don�t know where he�s going,
he really doesn�t care.
A celebrant of life�s wild chance,
a grin is all he wears.
And folks can always trust
that he�ll always give a hand.
