Unfortunately, I have no real opinion on the matter of affirmative action. On the surface, it seems ludicrous, and contrary to the idea that there should be no discrimination on the basis of color; on the other hand, a lot of universities are run by old white guys who have a lot of prejudice still.

Then again, if a person can't get in on their own merits they shouldn't be allowed in; on the other hand, perhaps affirmative action works like Christ - letting people in places where they probably shouldn't be anyway (snicker!).

I waffle on the issue, as you can tell.
