Subject: :) I am not saying...

I am not saying that a well rounded education is worthless. You and Adilbrand seem to take one thing I say and assume I am damning everything else. I am not saying there is only one subject and only one way to teach. I just mean that recognizing a child's interests and abilities and then emphasizing his exposure to these things is a good way, and I am not sure that this can happen right now in schools. (Wasn't this discussion about affirmative action?) Anyway, I am against affirmative action and very much for my above method of teaching. (And let's face it, not everything we are taught is good for us. Some of our greatest minds Twain, Thoreau, Wilde, and other have denounced public education in favor of education of the self and getting one's education by living. Of course, I must admit that I am seriously considering going to school in order to teach! Sigh. Life is a contradiction, though.)
