This is funny. I have had the same thought actually, a parallel between Sauron and Bush. It raises the interesting question about the use of power. Does having great power also carry with it the urgency to use this power?

It seems to me (and I am not saying I am for or against anything) that Bush's war is of the Sauronic nature. He wields great power and in some strange sense great power demands to be used. Is this inevitable? Every act of creation seems to carry with it an equal power of destruction. With the blooming of technology and plenty for the rich countries of the world, we also see how technology is manipulated to create massive killing machines. Is humanity programmed to self destruct in this manner?
