How long has humans been on this planet?
in human form: something like 400000 years or give or take a few 100,000

In the last 200 years, how much taller has the average human become? at the very least a foot. Take that change, and extrapolate back a few thousand years and we would be only a foot tall :)

Look at the change in culture in the last 300 years. Extremely fast and vigorous changes in culture. Especially in the last 100 years.

Changes in human health in the last 100 years or so? Life span has grown considerably.

Look at the changes in technology in the last 200 years.

The point, we are on a ever increasing speeding spiral of change.

The world has changed more in the last 100 years than in the previous 2000 years before that. In the last 4000 years the world has changed more than the 100,000 before that.

Hell, 4000 years ago we didn't even have written language. and probably lived in caves.
Settlements and culture and crops and agriculture and wine is only a few thousand years more.

It is a bit overwhelming to recognize the changes in the world in the last 200 years.
The biggest cultural change probably being the invention of Cars and the invention of the lightbulb.

So, yes, I can easily believe we are speeding to a end soon.
This rate of change, especially the increase in the rate of change, cannot possibly continue.
hell, for one thing, in 300 years we will be 20 foot tall and live for 300 years and 98 percent of the 10 trillion population will be in american prisons.

How does the celestine prophesy say it, rising to a critical mass?
