Some guy on discovery channel found evidence that the Black Sea (or the Caspian, I always get them mixed up) was created when a natural dam broke and flooded out a few villages. He claimed it was Noah's flood. I thought it was a little forced, but interesting.

Glaciers do push land, but most only move a few inches a year - I think that would rule out any type of flash flooding, unless a glacier broke a natural lake dam and that caused a flood - but those types of natural dams are fairly rare, in my experience. Usually they're just low spots that are fed by a spring or creek.

Interestingly, a great flood is one of those events that is mentioned in early texts throughout the world. The Navajo beleived the Grand Canyon was caused by the draining of a giant flood. The Maya believed the world has been destroyed by water once and will be destroyed by fire next (they predicted 2012 or 2021 depending on who you hear) and that makes some people fearful of nuclear war.
