Well, it was just an idea. I am not saying there wasn't a flood... or that every culture has a flood story (which didn't necessarily have to happen at the same time, or could have happened so early in man's history that the survivors carried the tales of a more local, less than world wide, flood with them). All I am saying is that there is no proof that it wasn't a natural phenomenon; no proof that God "did it".

Yes, there is a strata in the Earth that indicates a lot of floods, but... no human bones are fossilized in that strata. If humanity was nearly wiped out by that flood, one would think that at least one skeleton would have been found... or one artifact that was buried in the silt.

All I am saying is that a worldwide flood could have been a historical event, and a completely natural one.

A lot of fundementalists claim that if the Flood is real, then the Bible is true. I dispute that as an illogical conclusion. If the Flood is real, does that make the epic of Gilgamesh a true story? Does the existance of Vlad "Dracula" Tepes mean that "Dracula" was a true story? The existance of a historical fact in a book doesn't make the entire book true or false.
