Pierre D'Artagne is a name that will likely belong to a noble. Possibly a swashbuckler. Maybe a swashbuckling noble. Peter of Artagne, however, might be a captain of the city guard but can't ever expect to get any higher than that social station. It pays to have a name that sounds French.

Theives' guilds never have to be secretive. No one seems to notice them even though they wear black leather while walking around the city, use a front called "Mick's Lockpick Service" that's always brimming with no-goods, hang around in obvious clusters, and say things like "you might find my services unorthodox, but I get the job done".

All goblin hordes have at least one diplomat who speaks in the common tongue. This goblin is usually fairly important and the other goblins will listen if he tells them to go pick daisies rather than attack the adventurers they've come upon.

..or maybe that's just in my games. ;0) I enjoyed the list, thanks for those. Did you write them Adilbrand? I didn't see a note on authorship.
