I went to Jerome 12 years ago, I didn't know there was a mental institution there. So, I don't know about that one. Kind of a weird place for one, Jerome is practically, or is, a "ghost" town (of a different sort). I know of a haunted hotel in Jerome. There are links in my link sections to a few different websites that feature Arizona stories. Check them out, you'll find much info.

Try Adobe Angels: Arizona Ghost Stories by my friend Antonio R. Garcez. The place you're thinking of is the Jerome Grand Hotel, formerly the United Verde Hospital. You can buy Antonio's books (he has some on New Mexico too), at his Red Rabbit Press site (type in name and enter and it should lead you to his web site)- here's the info!!! Hope this helps.
