Subject: Phone calls from the dead?

I believe I had one of these experiences. How realistic is this phenomena?

This phenomena does seem to occur - though not in the abundance of "regular" paranormal incursions into OUR plane of exisitence. I have written a few articles over the years on this "Type" of contact - I have documented a few cases that were without explanation and seemed genuine to the subject reporting. Please describe your particular situation - as they are never quite the same dispite reports ovr the years. You can also email me further with the details at the email listed above (from my site)

Hello,
I once received a disturbing phone call that I just felt was something supernatural. The phone had a kind of dead ring when I picked it up, almost like it was not really ringing. When I answered, there was a lot of static and many strange muffled voices on the other end. Then, one voice began to speak, it was louder but still sounded strange. It said "prepare". Then the line when dead. I "star 69'd" to find out who called but instead of the usual # being given of the last dialer, or in some cases "I'm sorry but the number is unknown" message, I got an "error in request" message. I had never heard that message after star 69-ing before. More than anything I had a gut feeling that it was not normal. Who knows. I certainly don't know what "prepare" meant.

although I have never had this experience, you might refer to a book entitled Phone Calls From The Dead by D.Scott Rogo and Raymond Bayless (Berkley Book, Berkley Pub. Co.1980). although out of print, check your library!

Well, let me tel you somthing. Spirits can use earthly devices to "get in touch" or more than likely to make their presence known. My old house was haunted, and the ghost was quiet for years, then all the sudden, the phone started ringing funny.like, really quick. in 12 minutes it rang 32 times, four times each. the answering machine couldn't keep up,(it would rewind and not be ready for the next call in time) and it only recorded a few messages, which, thanks to my dad, have long been erased. The messages were wind. They sounded staticy, and then a strong blowing wind sound. I answered the first few calls and was greeted by the same static and wind. after the last call, i was pretty pissed and scared. I picked up the phone. dead. I went to the potty, and picked up the phone again. Still dead. It remained dead until 11:45 that night.
for months following, the phone calls came less and less frequently, but each time it was the same noise. then the deadness for at least 15 minutes afterwards. I tried to star 69 after the line came back on, but it always gave me a busy signal.
