Unfortunately, I can't refer you to specific literature on the subject, but I find it facinating. You would find some info in Hauntings, Poltergeist,and related PK disturbances. Also, see Possession and Obsession for additional info. Whoever, or whatever is assaulting needs the necessary energy from someone or somewhere in order to accomplish its disturbance. It would either draw from the victem, or someone else in order to victemize. Desceased personalities achieve sensual gratifications via the corporeals.e.g, drugs,alchohol,tobacco,and sex.

It is not common, it is simply a way to connect with another for the use of stimulation. I don't think there are many spirits who do this. The ones who usually do or attempt is lower life for enities and they are not spirits but energy beings who vibrate on lower frequencies than our brian waves.
