Hello,
A family of 4 from Aurora, IL was visiting an apple orchard in Hebron, IL one afternoon. It was late afternoon when they decided it was time to head back home. They were on a country road, still in Hebron, when they all spotted a cow in the middle of the road ahead. They slowed down their mini van and the 2 kids in back crawled up front to get a better look. Strangely though, the cow then quickly vanished. All 4 persons saw the cow but then also saw the cow simply disappear. They looked around, couldn't find an explanation and eventually made their way home. When I first got this story from them I filed it away, not knowing what I thought of it. Then, I received a report months later from a man, who lives in a nearby town of Hebron, who was traveling down a Hebron road when he saw a "phantom cow". He saw the cow on the side of the road and thought it odd as the fence behind him was closed, it was evening, and no one else was around. He decided to get out and assess the situation. He quickly stepped out and the cow was nowhere to be found. The fence line was long, with open field behind it. Nothing was in that direction. There was nothing on or off the road behind the vehicle. The other side of the road was open field as well. The road in front of the vehicle was also clear. He wrote to me because he is positive he saw a cow and that there is no way it could have escaped in the amount of time, which he claims was seconds, it took for him to get out of the car. Both sightings occurred on the same road in Hebron.
