In reply to: Limboland 's message, "Letters of introduction" on 17:01:48 05/26/00 Fri

My story: My name is Marlo Holly, I'm 33 years old and the mother of two children (14, 12) and step mother to three more. (13, 11, 7) My problems started after my 14 year old was born. I began having horrible headaches and then my arms started "flying out of control" It became almost impossible to do simple tasks such as changing my daughter's diaper or buttoning my own clothes. Then my legs started doing the same thing and I would stumble a lot. Then trying to form words became a struggle. I went through a series of tests including two CT scans and and MRI and two EEG's, The only test that wasn't completely normal was the EEG....the Doctor made some kind of comment
about my having slow reaction time......that I was probably learning disabled! HA! Not True and SO OFFENSIVE! He said all my problems must be stress related. (He called me Hysterical!) Sometime later, I began losing my vision. I went to an eye doctor that refered me to another neurologist.
I was diagnosed with Optic Neuritis, and put on Prednizone. All of my symptoms stopped after using the Prednizone. But the doctor never made any suggeston that it was anything like MS. I just thought it was some weird
fluke, but now it was over. As the years went by, I can remember that I had various strange things occur. And basically was a bit of a clutz.
Once I went to the doctor with a numb leg, I thought I had been bitten by a spider. He found nothing wrong and sent me home. Another time my hands went completely numb, without running tests my doctor just said I probably had
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Another time I had severe pain in my face, Thought maybe it was a tooth. The dentist found nothing wrong and told me it was probably TMJ.

More recently, I started having flashes of light in my perephial vision.
My doc referred me to an Opthamologist, who found nothing wrong. I then went to another Neurologist who said it was "probably MS" , but I had two MRI's (one brain and one C-Spine) that wre both normal....so he says it couldn't be
MS.
Bull! I've been through every other test to rule out everything else. My current symptoms include, but are not limited to: Weekness, restless legs, fatigue, blurry vision and light flashes, cognitive problems, numbness and pins and needles, mucsle spasms, pain in left shoulder/neck area and in right lower leg, bowel and bladder problems, difficulty walking, night sweats, overall clumsiness, etc. All these symptoms tend to come and go, and are
aggravated by heat, or overtiredness. I am sooo convinced that I have MS, and it is very frustrating that people don't really understand. They seem to think that if you are not diagnosed...you aren't really sick. It is
comforting that I am not alone. Thanks for the group!!
