Subject: Be careful who you listen to!

About one month ago, I went for a neurological 2nd opinion. She did some neurological tests and then decided that there was a psychological element to my complaints. Four and 1/2 years of being sick and seeing doctors and she was the first to say this to me. I freaked out. BIG TIME. I couldn't come to this forum because I was sure that I didn't belong here. I became convinced that I was an awful person because I've cost my family so much and somehow I was the cause of it all.

Yesterday, I went back to my doc, and that saint among men, gave me back my peace of mind. He totally blew off the 2nd opinion saying, "she doesn't know you, I do".

The really interesting part of this is that my sensations in my hands and feet have been coming back. My doc had increased my neurontin a couple of months ago, and that is the reason some things are better. He increased it again yesterday and I woke up this morning feeling better than I've felt in the morning in years. He had just come back from a pain conference where five papers were presented on Neurontin. Even though he doesn't know what's wrong yet, he feels it's cerebellar and that's why the neurontin is working.

I'm back...again.
