Hi Judy:

Well, Let me try to answer IMHO some of your questions. Firstly, yes, it is possible to make god money in P.S. Most sitters charge between 12.50 & 16.00 PER VISIT...no discounts. You should start with a competitive rate do not cut yourself short or you'll wind up burnt out. You may start off P/T and see how ya like it. The freedom alone is out of this world. You can set your own hours but it does get difficult. I would say most of my work is weekdays, but I do weekends as well. Perhaps you can target the business traveler, with middays.
Business cards and flyers are the way to start. Keep it all very simple though, most people do not want to read so much and they can get confused.
as far as the samll town well, I know of small town sitters who do really well so you are needed. Getting your nmae out there will be your main work.
