Funny you should bring this up-I am meeting a new client tonight who,#1, is out of my area, so I'm charging extra p/v anyway, but she has 2 bunnies and a dog. She wants only one visit/day, says the dog stays in a kennel all day and can be let out while I'm there. I do not know if this is in or outdoors yet. I know alot of sitters won't do once dailys for a dog...if the poor thing is inside in a kennel, I'll insist on twice/day and if outdoors, I'll have to evaluate shelter,space ect. I may be turning this one down, we'll see. I'm in Colorado, but it does get miserably hot here too, at times, so I'm concerned.
Stick to your guns on your issue, follow the advice you've gotten. Explain to this owner that the situation makes you uncomfortable and as a prof. petsitter, you will only do what's best for the pets. She can pay you for extra visits or find someone else. Good luck! Laurie
