Sandi gives some sound advice. In fact all the horses we sit for (about 3 per day now that show season has started)would not even consider hiring a novice. We sit for trainers & show horses that insist on years of experience. These babies aren't cheap, sit for one that cost $250,000... & occasionaly for one that has been offered a million for (World Champion Walking Horse) Besides the digestive system you have to know where to look for other signs of distress in a horse.
You also have to be pretty strong. Water buckets & bales of hay & 50 lb bags of feed aren't for the weak.
