If you have the time and clients are willing to "foot" the bill I would try it. That is a lot of mileage so the rate would have to make it worth your while. The worst case is that you will start and not be able to continue but that is the great thing about being your own boss...it is your choice!
I couldn't hire an IC because It would only mean I'd have that far to travel keep check on him/her. I'd rather try it myself and if I couldn't do it I'd just stop. I offer some "out of area" trips and the clients are aware they are paying more for this, none seem to mind. In my area there are tons of pet sitters who could do it for less but they like me. I do ask have stricter guildlines as far as reserving dates way in advance and cancellations, they pay for that too. Keys, I have to have on hand and all those little things you do not worry about when clients are down the block.
