 Good points Peter; for me it was a matter of space constraints and interest. I am primarily a naval historian so my focus from early in the research was on the flotillas and the naval aspects of the MarineKorps. Some of what I had on the military aspect of the unit was cut because the publisher thought the original manuscript was too long and would benefit from a tighter focus. Maybe I should revisit the other side for a second work?
