He voices his thought, though not in so many words. "But I don't think it can kill us."

Sensing her relaxation in his presence, he is slightly surprised. Why does she trust me? is the foremost inexplicable thought in his mind.

Yet for some reason he cannot place, he returns the gentle laugh as a warm rumble, feeling oddly relieved for having said words that had been his alone for so long.
