Gina,
What i was saying is that Brad has two movies that are nominated in the Best Picture category: Moneyball and Tree of Life. He himself is only up for one award, best Actor for Moneyball, he isn't nominated in the acting category for Tree of Life. George will win because he already won both the Golden Globe and the Critics Choice in that category and those two awards are very good indicators of who gets the Oscar. So unless there's a total upset, i think George has it in the bag. But he's never had two of his movies in the Best Picture category and i don't remember who had either. I am sure it's not a record or anything but it's still pretty rare....

Tree of Life was a really weird movie, can't say i liked it either. I didn't walk out or anything but it was definitely not easy to get through because it was so long. But it was totally adored at the Cannes Film Festival in May (won the Palm D'Or-top prize there for movies) and i can see how the Academy is eating it up too. Not only is it nominated for best picture but Terrence Mallick is nominated for Best Director for it too out of nowhere (he wasn't nominated at all in either Critics Choice, Globes or Directors Guild Awards so this is a surprising one) Guess they really love the movie. Doubt it'd win though, it will be a fight between The Descendants and the french film The Artist i think. There's so much buzz about The Artist, that i'm sort of curious to see it. It's a completely silent movie, taking place in the 20s, not something you see every day....
